Elisa participated in a Blended Intensive Programme of the ENLIGHT consortium on Connecting Cultures: Sustainability, Travel, Translation and Migration. The course brought together students and researchers from six European universities, encompassing a diverse range of linguistic, cultural and national backgrounds. During an on-site week in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz at the university of the Basque Country (UPV), participating PhD and Master students had the opportunity to attend insightful lectures and key-notes on the intersections between language, power and sustainability. The course provided a meaningful platform for discussions with interactive panels presided by professors and researchers, conducting interdisciplinary research in the fields of Translation Studies, Sociolinguistics and Social Sciences. To finalise the on-site week, students presented project proposals in collaboration with socio-cultural agents to tackle real-life challenges presented by the representatives of various local organisations such as ACCEM, a Spanish NGO aiming to foster community and dialogue between migrant and local communities.
